I've found this stuff totally awesome! In some moments I felt like watching a video screen capture from a game like Space Invaders or similar, but for sure it's nearly a work of digital art; and all built from simple commit log lines,... impressive.
As lots of people know, transmitting a message as properly as you can is really need in these days world, misunderstandings can cause critical failures with huge amounts of money loss, etc.
But, know what? I will be evils' advocate if I say that this representations are casting information through colors and ... you know what I mean: have you read the article on my site about information through color? ;o)
Just kidding mate, I know this representations are mostly trying to show an overview of a long lapse, so that is not the point to complain because it fulfills its needs by far.
